HLG 104: Intro to Health Leadership and Governance for Community-based Drug Rehab
Leadership and governance is a key component for community-based drug rehabilitation programs.
For drug rehabilitation, changes in attitudes and behaviors among various stakeholders are important. Program implementors such as barangay captains, barangay tanods, health workers, policemen, social workers all need to acquire the right knowledge, attitudes and skills in order to implement a highly functional community drug rehabilitation program.
HLG 104 is a partnership between the Development Academy of the Philippines the Universal Health Care Lab of the Civika Asian Development Academy. Modeled after the Health Leadership and Governance Program of the DOH and Zuellig Family Foundation, this course aims to equip learners to initiate and cultivate a sustainable community drug rehabilitation program at the barangay and LGU levels.
This course aims to engage volunteers and professional development workers who want to contribute to accelerating community drug rehabilitation programs in their own municipalities.
At the end of this course, the learners are expected to:
1. accelerate treatment completion rates for community-based drug rehabilitation programs at the LGU levels
2. co-create sustainable partnership arrangements to support treatment of drug surrenderers
3. deepen social involvement and leadership development among volunteers
